The Lassen National Forest advised folks of a few changes to the Christmas tree permit program this year. The changes are as follows:
Sales for Christmas tree permits will begin on Nov. 1, 2020, by mail only.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, the offices remain closed. This includes the Old Station Visitor Center on the Hat Creek Ranger District. It will not be staffed to sell Christmas tree permits.
The Shasta-Trinity National Forest will no longer be selling permits for Christmas trees to be cut on the LNF.
“We are excited about sharing the changes to our Christmas tree program,” said Deb Bumpus, forest supervisor, LNF. “It is essential that everyone is aware that only permits sold by the LNF will be valid on the forest.”
If you would like to cut a Christmas tree on the LNF, send your request for a Christmas tree permit along with a check for $10 to one of the following locations: Almanor Ranger District, 900 E. Hwy 36, P.O. Box 767, Chester CA 96020
