The Burned Area Emergency Response Team has started the post-fire assessment on the Dixie Fire, and Forest officials on the Lassen National Forest have re-evaluated and reduced the Dixie Fire area closure.
Be cautious when traveling within the Lassen National Forest because firefighters, fire vehicles, and heavy equipment are still working within the area.
Campgrounds opening today are: Bogard, Crater Lake, Roxie Peconom, Bridge, Almanor South, Elam, Potato Patch, Alder, Hole In The Ground, Battle Creek and Black Rock.
All of the Recreation Residence Tracts on the Almanor District except Willow Creek, Feather River and Silver Lake will open, these listed are within the new closure area.
Many other popular campgrounds and our two boat launches at Lake Almanor, Almanor Boat Launch located adjacent to Almanor North Campground and Canyon Dam Boat Launch will remain closed due to hazard trees.
