Lassen National Forest responds to three lightning fires, low risk of spread

Yesterday’s lightning storm sparked some fires on Lassen National Forest ground; however, all three pose low risk, the agency shared.

Sunday evening, LNF announced there were three located and confirmed fires following numerous smoke reports.

The first is on the Almanor Ranger District in the Caribou Wilderness Area West of Silver Beach Picnic Area. The fire was 1 acre with minimal fire activity with low potential. Four smoke jumpers are on scene.

Eagle Lake Ranger District has two fires confirmed with resources on scene

The first is the E-2 near Bogard Campground, which was about 1 acre with low potential.

The E-3 fire South of Poison Lake and West of Bogard Butte was half an acre in timber with no immediate values at risk. Resources are mitigating for snag hazards.
