Lassen reports 15 new community cases Tuesday, 293 active

Lassen Cares, the county’s COVID-19 hub, reported 15 additional community cases Tuesday, Dec. 1.

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, there are 293 active, 242 recovered, one currently hospitalized and two deaths, for 538 total community cases. Monday’s update reported 289 active, 231 recovered, one hospitalized and two deaths — an increase of 15 cases.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 608 active cases, 336 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 30 active cases and 626 recovered cases at CCC, and 31 active and 12 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive CDCR staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Nov. 25 update from CDCR, there are 22 active staff cases at CCC and 97 active staff cases at HDSP. A staff update is expected Dec. 4.

Locally, there have been 11,353 tests administered, with 10,732 returning negative and 83 pending.

Moreover, earlier today, Lassen County Public Health announced the COVID-19 Project Baseline Testing was extended through Dec. 31 in Lassen County.
