Law enforcement investigates body found in creek

The Susanville Police Department announced an unidentified body was found in a creek today, Sunday, Nov. 29.

According to a statement from the Susanville Police Department, at around 1:35 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a body in the creek between the Sierra Shopping Center and the Walmart parking lot.

Upon arrival, the statement continued, officers discovered a body submerged in the water, which was recovered with assistance from the Susanville Fire Department. The body was identified as a male in his 40s.

The Lassen County Sheriff/ Coroner’s Office responded and will conduct the investigation on the identification and cause of the death, read the statement. The case remains under investigation.
