LCAC to offer drawing class for children

Art is a way for everyone, no matter their age, to express themselves.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 24, local artist Corey O’Brien will be leading a drawing class for children at the Lassen County Arts Council Gallery.

The class will take place every Tuesday 2:30 to 4 p.m. until May 16.

Denise Larimer, administrative assistant at LCAC, said O’Brien will help kids work on their own projects or pieces of artwork.

“It’s a great class,” said Larimer, “because children will be working on their own pieces of art and will learn to develop their own unique style.”

Larimer said those who attend can even bring in their electronic art devices such as tablets and O’Brien can show them how to better use them.

“It’s a small class environment,” said Larimer, “so students really get the one on one art help.”

Larimer said students can bring in their own art supplies or can purchase them at the gallery.

“We will be offering a 30 percent discount to those in the class,” said Larimer.
