“That’s a wrap for the sixth annual Back the Badge,” the Lassen Community College Athletics Department shared Tuesday. On Feb. 25, the Lassen College Athletic Department hosted its annual Back the Badge celebration, “Covid Style.”
“Because of regulations, an in-person gathering was not permitted. So we went to Plan B,” the department wrote.
The athletic department partnered with Papa Murphy’s to distribute pizza to the families of all law enforcement personnel from Lassen County, including the California Highway Patrol, Susanville Police Department and The Lassen County Sheriff’s Department.
In all, 60 pizzas went out with the following thank you:
“The Lassen Community College Athletic Department along with Papa Murphy’s would like to thank you for you selfless devotion to keeping the families of Lassen County safe.
“With the help of your whole department, you take to the streets, risking everything, to do a job few are called to do.
“We fully understand that this pizza is nothing compared to what you deserve. It is our hope, that tonight when you are enjoying this with your families, that maybe you can feel, even for a moment, the thanks you deserve from the athletic department and a pizza join.”
