The Lassen Community College Athletic Department invites the public to join them in honoring local law enforcement before the start of the men’s basketball game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12. The department started honoring local law enforcement approximately five years ago.
According to a statement from LCC, “Law enforcement is committed to a profession to protect our communities, and those that live in them, a lot of the times sacrificing time that could be spent with their families.
“The LCC Athletic Department brings together the local departments (Susanville Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Lassen County Sheriff’s office) and their families for a dinner, and then honors them and their families for their service to our community.”
According to the statement, “In these trying times, the Lassen College Athletic Department would like to let our local agencies know how much we appreciate them for their service in our community.”
