LFS seeks survivor stories

In order to increase awareness of sexual assault and violence, Lassen Family Services would like to give survivors a space to share their sexual assault/violence stories.

According to a statement from LFS, “It is common for survivors to feel alone and isolated. For many, hearing and sharing stories can play a vital role in their recovery from trauma.

“Sexual violence happens in Lassen County.  During the month of April, LFS will share anonymous survivor sexual assault/violence stories on social media (via videos, graphics, etc.) and in writing throughout the county as part of a Lassen County awareness campaign.

“If you would like to share your story, please get in touch with us via [email protected], drop off your story at 1306 Riverside Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or mail it in to Attn: Executive Assistant P.O. Box 710, Susanville, CA 96130.

“Please try and have stories turned in as soon as possible. Only share your personal experience. Someone else’s story is not yours to share.

“No personal information will be shared. If stories are turned in with personal information (names, specific locations, etc.), we will remove it before sharing with the public.”
