The Lassen High School girl’s softball team is taking control of the NAL race, sweeping the Yreka Miners in both games last week, 15-7 and 6-1.
Tuesday, the Grizzlies had 16 hits including huge days from Katie Marsh 3-4 with a homerun and 6 RBI’s and Neva Adams going 4-5 and scoring 4 runs.
Friday, Reegan Floyd dominated the Miners throwing a 3 hitter and striking out 14. Jordan Smith provided the offense going 2-3 with 4 RBI’s.
“These were two huge league wins as we both went in undefeated, ” wrote head coach Paul Moore. “On Tuesday it was the offense carrying the load scoring 15 runs. Then Friday, Reegan was just amazing with 14 strike outs. This group has overcome so much with COVID and is truly a pleasure to coach”.
League play is not over, though, and the team is not relaxing since they still have four games left: Two with Anderson and two with U-prep. The Grizzlies host Anderson at 4 p.m. today, Tuesday at Lassen College.
