As the weather warms up, it’s great to get out and watch local athletes take to the diamond at Frank Ernaga Field at Memorial Ball Park and play some ball.

Last week, the Lassen High School varsity baseball team played Modoc at Alturas on Tuesday, April 13, and won 7-3. On Wednesday, April 14, the varsity played Truckee at home and lost 17-6.

It’s a difficult year with the loss of last year’s entire season due to the pandemic, Head Coach Scott Foreman shared, but the team is taking on the challenge.

“We are learning everyday and players are working hard to get to where they need to get to to play to their full potential. It’s a work in progress,” Foreman wrote to Lassen News.

The Grizzlies play today, Monday, April 19 against Quincy at home, and again Wednesday against Loyalton at home.
