Life Tribute – Anthony Nick Alosi, Sr.

Anthony Nick Alosi, Sr.

Anthony Nick Alosi, Sr., 85, of Susanville, California, passed away June 16, 2020, surrounded by his two sons.

Anthony (Tony) was born to parents Peter and Katherine Alosi on Sept. 2, 1934, in Cambridge Massachusetts. As the youngest of nine brothers and sisters, within a month of being born, the family came to Susanville where Anthony would attend and graduate Lassen High School in the Class of 1954.

With athletic and academic honors, he and would go on to play football for University of Pacific in Stockton, California. Due to an injury and after recovery, he then enlisted in the Army and was stationed in New Orleans for some time. After serving, he came back to Susanville and met Della Marie Hewett; they would marry in December 1967. They spent 53 years together until cancer took Della (Mom) from us in November 2018.

Anthony continued to work for the Army at the Sierra Army Depot in Herlong as a painter and sign maker, retiring after 22 years. He also ran his own private sign painting business, where most of Susanville businesses had him design and produce their advertising and signs that you can still see today.

Anthony is survived by his two sons, Keith and Nick Alosi and grandchildren Jason, Nichole and Isabella and Anthony’s brother Pete (103) and sister Rosie (90).

As we all remember, he was very artistic and loved to paint beautiful wildlife and landscape scenes. He loved to hunt, fish and attend most activities his sons or grandchildren were involved with. He was also very involved with Lassen High alumni reunions and events.

As per Anthony’s (Dad’s) wishes, he wanted to wait to have a ceremony for Della Alosi (Mom). The family will host a Celebration of Life for both Anthony and Della Alosi was changed to noon Saturday, Aug. 1 for family and close friends at the Alosi residence in Susanville.
