Barbara Tornabene, 94, of Susanville, passed away from natural causes in Reno, Nevada on Feb. 15, 2021. She was born in the San Francisco Bay Area in the fall of 1926 to Rena and Guido.
Upon graduating from high school, Barbara traveled to Italy where she worked with the US military intelligence branch. It was here that she met and married Anthony J Tornabene (in Trieste, Italy) in May of 1951. After years of being stationed at various locations throughout the world, Barbara and Tony settled in Susanville.
Hers was a life of adventure! Barbara is survived by her three children: Kathy (Greg), Mike, and Kim (Joe); five grandchildren: Matthew, Danny, Kevin, Lindsey and Nicole; and three great grandchildren: Kaeden, Camille, and Lucy.
Barbara was loved by all that knew her. She was known for her kindness, happiness and her ability to make all that knew her feel special. She will be sorely missed. A reception will be held in Barbara’s honor when group congregations once again become acceptable.
