Life Tribute for the week of 07/09/19

Darlene Mae Riche
Darlene Mae Riche, 84, went to be with our Lord on June 30, 2019 at Renown Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family and close friends who loved her and whom she loved.

Darlene was born June 20, 1935 in Modesto, California to Oval and Viva Shafer. Darlene married Buddy Riche in Nov. 23, 1963 and had been married for 55 years. They moved as a family to Doyle in November 1971 and resided there until present.

Darlene graduated from Hanford High in 1958 and spent most of her career working for the federal government. She retired in 1990 at the age of 55 from U.S. Postal Service, as postmaster in Milford, California.

Darlene was a Christian and was a large part of the Doyle Christian Church. She was on the board, managed church events, taught Sunday school, led worship and assisted where needed as a pastor’s wife.

She will be remembered for her giving and helping those in need. She also was known for her hand-written cards and letters of thoughtfulness and encouragement.

Darlene is preceded in death by her daughter, Dana. Darlene is survived by her husband, Buddy Riche, of Doyle; her son, Randy Riche and his wife Lisa, of Antelope, California; her brother, Gene Shafer and his wife Esmerelda, of Kingsburg California; grandchild, Josh Pena and his wife Kortnie; and great-grandchild, Jace Pena, of Kalama, Washington; Darlene is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Reverend James Moore, a close family friend from Stagecoach Church of God in Stagecoach, Nevada will be officiating the memorial service held on July 13, 2019, at the Doyle Senior Citizen building, followed by food and fellowship.

Funeral services will be private.
