Patricia Lynn Foster

Patricia Lynn Foster died peacefully at home March 28, 2021. She was born in Hastings, Nebraska on April 26, 1937 to Richard K. and E. Ruth Peterson. She began living in Susanville in 1964, when she moved with her husband, David Foster, who had accepted a teaching/coaching position at Lassen High School.

In addition to raising three daughters, she was active in the United Methodist Church where she sang alto in the choir. She was a past member of the Monticola Club, P.E.O., and board member of the Susanville School District. She worked for a number of years at the California Department of Forestry as well as a short time at Banner Lassen Hospital.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed researching her family history, and watching classic movies. Music always played an important part in her life. She enjoyed going to Susanville Symphony concerts, the opera in San Francisco and singing in the community performance of the Messiah for a number of years. She had numerous pets throughout her life and leaves behind her Labradoodle Arnie, who was by her side when she passed away.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Foster, and grandson Luke Sheehy. She is survived by her three daughters Lynn (Doug) Sheehy of Anderson, California; Kyle Schefter of San Luis, California; and Jane Foster (Jack Medici) of Hamilton Branch, California; sister Karen (Joel) Samuelson of Trumbull, Nebraska; and brother Richard (Elaine) Peterson of Frankfort, Michigan.

She leaves behind eight grandchildren- Kate, Meg, Darrah, Ellen, Mitch, Shannon, Kellen and Tyler; and six great grandchildren-Lucas, Leo, Pierce, Gloria, Manuel and Mia.
