LMUD announces the ‘Food for Lights’ holiday lighting giveaway

If you want to help the needy and get some cool Christmas lights, too, the Lassen Municipal Utility District’s Food for lights holiday giveaway is for you.

Beginning Dec. 4 – the community is invited to bring a non-perishable food item to our business office – 65 South Roop Street — in exchange for a box of multi-colored LED holiday lights. (Limited to one box per household, first 200 customers.)

The goal of the program is to increase awareness and promote the use of LED lights in LMUD’s service territory and to help replenish our local food shelves after the holiday rush.

Help the needy and get some LED Christmas lights from the Lassen Municipal Utility District.

Lights will be distributed to LMUD customers on a first-come, first-served basis as long as the supply lasts.

In addition to the light giveaway, LMUD is offering a rebate of up to $3 per box to customers who purchase EnergyStar-qualified LED holiday lights. Visit www.lmud.org for program details and to fill out the online rebate application.
