UPDATE: 9:12am: According to LMUD, PG&E has located the fault on their transmission line and we are slowly picking up load. Some customers have been restored and others will have power restored shortly.
LMUD is experiencing a system-wide outage Thursday morning, June 24, the utility announced.
“All customers are without power. The outage is being caused by the sudden failure of PG&E’s Caribou transmission line. Unfortunately, this also caused Honey Lake Power to go offline and at this time connecting to HLP is not an option. We estimate that power will be out for at least 6 hours. PG&E personnel are working on repairing the line fault in order to restore power. We will update this post as soon a more info is available. Also, our text alert provider is experiencing technical difficulties and we are not able to send text alerts at this time. Please visit our outage map at www.lmud.org/outage,” LMUD shared.
