The Lassen Municipal Utility District warned customers against potential scams Monday.
“Every so often, our customers will get a call from a utility scammer. Signs of a potential scam include, a threat to disconnect, request for immediate payment, request for a prepaid card and a refund or rebate offer,” read a Monday, Nov. 16 post from LMUD. “Protect yourself by always knowing your account status by downloading LMUD’s SmartHub app https://lmud.smarthub.coop/Login.html. You can check your account balance, payment history and sign-up for recurring payments”
If you do receive a scam call, inform LMUD by emailing [email protected], or calling, 530-257-4174.
