On Friday May 10, local youth fastpitch softball player, Emma Perkins, tried out in Modesto, California for the United States Specialty Sports Association All American Northwest Region fast pitch team.
Following the tryout, Emma was identified as a “Direct Select” based on her overall score and will automatically receive a berth into the USSSA All American games. Perkins is one out of only 26 girls to be selected in the 9u division to represent the Northwest Region.
The Northwest Region consists of Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.
The remaining roster selections will be released after the conclusion of the last tryout of the season and aired on usssalive.com.
The games will be held Monday, July 22 through Saturday, July 27, 2019 and will be located in the brand new USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida. Perkins also plays for the local 10u Lassen Lightning Fastpitch Softball travel team.
