Lonn Colvin Wangsgard

On November 1, 2021 Lonn Colvin Wangsgard passed away after a brief illness. Lonn was born on February 20, 1929, to Jake and Marion Wangsgard in Ogden, Utah. Lonn was 92.

Lonn was a car salesman in Costra Costa County, Plumas and Lassen counties for many years. During his years as a salesman he developed and exhibited sense of caring and fairness when working with his customers, many of whom became his friends.

Lonn was also an accomplished musician. During his high school years he played in numerous dance bands playing clarinet, alto and tenor saxophones — whatever was required at the moment. Lonn in later years played tenor sax in the Lake Almanor Swing Band for several years. After Lon moved to Redding, he became involved in the Shasta College music department playing in the concert Band and Jazz Band.

He was also a high school athlete as a basketball player and, later as an adult, a snowmobiler on local mountains and water skier on Bucks Lake and Lake Almanor.

He spent his last 18 years residing in Redding. 

Lonn is survived by his sister Kay, sons Lonnie and Albert, daughter Linda, niece Leatra and stepchildren LaDonna and Dwayne.
