Lorraine Alma Bornum, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on October 20, 2022. Born in Vancouver Canada, she moved with her mother to San Francisco in the 1940s. There she met a merchant seaman, Albert Antone Jonas. They eloped before he shipped out with the US Naval Fleet during WWII. The couple raised four children in the Bay Area before moving to Susanville in 1973.
Lorraine was a dearly loved daycare provider for over 50 years before retiring to warmer climates in the south. She was married to the love of her life Albert Jonas for 75 years.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Albert Jonas, daughters Carol and Colleen Jonas and granddaughters Savanna and Kai Jonas.
She leaves behind daughter Christine Jonas, son Tony Jonas of Susanville, grandchildren Alan and Leah Esler, Grant and Kaitlyn Schlereth, Danielle Hixon and many great-grandchildren.
There will be a private burial at Westwood Cemetery at a later date.
