Man arrested for vehicle theft, possession after traffic stop

A man was booked into the Lassen County Jail Wednesday after a traffic stop lead to officers recovering a stolen vehicle and discovering methamphetamine, cash and a handgun.

At about 3:23 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, Susanville Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in the Diamond Mountain Casino parking lot, according to a statement from the department. Lassen County Dispatch checked the information of the vehicle and it was returned stolen. During the recovery of the vehicle, the statement read, Susanville Police officers located about 5 ounces of methamphetamine, $3,074 in cash and a loaded .38 caliber handgun.

The driver, Joshua Paul Doyle, 38, was arrested at the scene for vehicle theft, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sales, transporting controlled substance, possession of prohibited weapon (metal knuckles), committing a crime while out on bail and possession of stolen property.

Doyle was booked into the Lassen County Jail and held on a $100,000 bail.

Officers located about 5 ounces of methamphetamine, $3,074 in cash and a loaded .38 caliber handgun after conducting a traffic stop Wednesday.
