McGuire’s “Roadshow for Democracy” comes to a roaring close, traversing 3,200 miles across NorCal

Last week, State Senator and candidate for CA-01 Mike McGuire closed out his “Roadshow for Democracy,” where he hosted in-person town halls that drew thousands of attendees across Northern California.

Over the course of the tour, the campaign logged more than 3,200 miles connecting with Democrats, Independents and Republicans alike in big cities, small towns and rural communities.

The Roadshow visited communities including Susanville, Sierraville, Quincy, Red Bluff, Willows, Willits, Lakeport, Chico and Santa Rosa, holding open conversations with residents about the pressing issues shaping their lives – saving healthcare and rural hospitals, growing rural economies, restoring cuts to the US Forest Service, making billionaires pay their fair share, and democracy itself.

“With all of the chaos and challenges facing our country right now, folks deserve better,” said McGuire. “They deserve leaders who will show up no matter what. That’s why this Roadshow mattered. We went to every county and met thousands of hard-working people where they live. Democrats, Independents, Republicans — we talked with everyone. That’s the way it should be in our democracy – and we’re just getting started.”

McGuire’s campaign, by the numbers
• 36 in-person and virtual town halls held in big cities, small towns, and rural communities throughout the district.
• More than 4,100 Northern Californians turned out to speak up about the future of their communities.
• More than 3,200 miles traveled across the region.
• 1,551 cookies consumed during the 36 town hall meetings.

With five weeks left until the June 2 primary, the momentum can’t be stopped – and Senator McGuire will be continuing his travels across the sprawling district.

This comes as McGuire has secured the support of the California Democratic Party, the Sierra Club, Governor Gavin Newsom, Senator Adam Schiff, Senator Alex Padilla, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, firefighters, nurses, teachers and every Democratic County Supervisor in CA-01 in endorsing McGuire’s campaign. To date, McGuire has raised more than $1 million from over 14,000 individual donors.
