Monticola Club’s Mother’s Day Brunch to feature raffle baskets, treats

Susanville’s Monticola Club has provided more details regarding their annual Mother’s Day Brunch set for 10 a.m. to noon at the Monticola Clubhouse, 140 S. Lassen St.

Julianne Pepetone has invited Elise and Marie to play the piano while guests enjoy divine desserts, frittatas, crepes and of course eggs and bacon prepared by the talented ladies of Monticola Club.

According to a statement from the club, Linda Tindell, Barbara Chavez and their committee have been working hard to make sure everything is perfect. To top it off guests may enjoy mimosas, fresh pomegranate juice and a trip to the chocolate fountain.

Each ticket enters guests in a raffle with four chances to win. Raffle baskets are filled to the brim with local merchant treasures — jewelry, chocolates, massages, nails, hair, restaurants and much more. Raffle tickets may also be purchased separately.

The club would like to remind guests that while they are celebrating your special mom, they are also celebrating our community.

All proceeds from the brunch go toward community projects and youth scholarship programs — the local community pool, high school and college scholarships, the library, seniors and food pantries to name a few.

According to the statement from the club, “Our Mission statement says it all:  ‘We are a women’s volunteer community service organization dedicated to improving our community.’”

And after the brunch, club members hope you will partake in the Craft Fair at the fair grounds or join the Paiute Meadows Walk.

Tickets are available at Margie’s Book Nook or from Naomi Tuner and are $25 per person. Seating is limited. Children under 5 eat free and brunch for children 12 and under costs $15. Your ticket also includes a chance to win a Mother’s Day Raffle Basket. Raffle tickets may be purchased separately for $5 each.
