New Year’s Eve revelers have a way to get home safely
OK, you and your friends are out partying the night away on New Year’s Eve and you suddenly discovered you forgot to appoint someone as a designated driver and now everyone’s too intoxicated to get behind the wheel.
Not to worry. Lassen Rural Bus and the American Automobile Association offer free rides or tows to make sure you arrive home safe and sound.
Lassen Rural Bus — in conjunction with sponsors the Diamond Mountain Casino, the T & A Lounge and Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon — again offers free rides home to residents within the city limits of Susanville on New Year’s Eve.
LRB will provide a modified city bus route from 8 to 11 p.m. for revelers on New Year’s Eve with stops at Modoc Street (8:42 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 9:42 p.m. and 10:42 p.m.) and the T & A Lounge (8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.), the Diamond Mountain Casino (8:16 p.m., 9:16 p.m. and 10:16 p.m.) and the Pioneer Saloon at Lassen Ale Works (8:34 p.m., 9:34 p.m. and 10:34 p.m).
Revelers can also take advantage of LRB’s free Night Route Service until 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day Monday, Jan. 1.
For those who take advantage of the Night Route will be dropped off at their doorstep if they live within the city of Susanville.
If you need a ride home, call LRB at 252-7433. For more information, go to lassentransportation.com.
And that’s not the only solution. This New Year’s Eve the American Automobile Association again offers a free tow to tipsy drivers through its Tipsy Tow program.
Tipsy Tow provides a free 10-mile tow, even if you’re not a AAA member. For mileage beyond 10 miles, motorists will be charged a standard towing rate.
To take advantage of the Tipsy Tow program, call (800) 222-4357.
Have a great time this New Year’s Eve, but if you have too much to drink, make sure you get a safe
ride home.
