File photo News No local Veterans Day celebrations due to COVID-19 November 6, 2020 Staff Call it a sign of the times — local veterans groups will not celebrate Veterans Day this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Veterans groups do plan to raise the Avenue of Flags at Diamond Crest Cemetery, weather permitting.The flags will be on display until about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.If you know a veteran, be sure to thank them for their service next Wednesday on Veterans Day.And you also won’t want to forget to celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps 244th birthday Tuesday, Nov. 10.
