****NOTIFICATION****

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLAN FOR THE LAHONTAN REGION TO CLARIFY MOJAVE RIVER BENEFICIAL USES, UPDATE SITE CLEANUP, LAND DISPOSAL AND BISHOP UNDERGROUND TANK POLICY SECTIONS AND OTHER EDITORIAL REVISIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board (Lahontan Water Board) will hold a public hearing and consider adoption of an amendment to the Water Quality Control Plan for the Lahontan Region (Basin Plan) to Clarify Mojave River Beneficial Uses, Update Site Cleanup, Land Disposal and Bishop Underground Tank Policy Sections and Other Editorial Revisions (Editorial BPA). The proposed Editorial BPA will make changes to the Preface, Chapters 1-4 and Chapter 6 of the Basin Plan. The Basin Plan identifies beneficial uses of surface and ground waters, establishes water quality standards for protecting the beneficial uses, and describes implementation programs for achieving water quality standards.
The Editorial BPA will clarify beneficial use designations for the Mojave River modified in the 2019 Beneficial Use Changes for the Mojave River Watershed and Other Minor Revisions Basin Plan Amendment (Resolution No. 2019-0246). The Editorial BPA will also correct errors, indicate new policies adopted by the State Water Board and update language in Chapters 4 and 6. The Editorial BPA includes changes that have already completed the required review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Consequently, no additional CEQA documentation is needed for this basin planning action.
