Notice of Public Hearing – Lassen County Planning Commission

The Lassen County Planning Commission solicits the aid of public agencies and the general public in consideration of the following item:

Applicant: Caltrans

File: Use Permit # 2026-004

Project: Proposal for a non-public utility line for transmission of electricity impacting one legal parcel (multiple APN’s) necessitating right of way acquisition.

Location: The proposed site is located along HWY 395 and is approximately 4 miles North of Madeline, CA. No addresses have been assigned by the County of Lassen to the subject parcel.

Zoning: The project site is zoned U-C-A-P (Upland Conservation, Agricultural Preserve Combining District) and is designated “Extensive Agriculture” per the Lassen County General Plan, 2000.  

A.P.N.: 007-120-027, 007-120-028, 007-120-031, and a portion of 007-120-026

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this item at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the Board Chambers, 707 Nevada Street, Susanville, California.
