James Robert Henson
James Robert Henson passed away at his home with his wife and son by his side on Nov. 9, 2017 at the age of 90.

He was born Oct. 17, 1927 to the late Thomas and Mildred Henson in Loveland, Colorado.

After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Jim settled in Los Angeles where he met and married his first wife, Joyce White in 1951 and raised their three children.

In the late 40s, he joined the local union and worked as a sheet metal worker until retiring in the 70s and moved to Susanville.

After Joyce was diagnosed with cancer, to make ends meet, Jim continued working at odd jobs in town. In the early years of Lake Forest Estates, Jim worked as its water master as well as fire chief. Jim never hesitated to help anyone in need. His passion was trout fishing and every spare minute was spent on Eagle Lake.

Joyce passed away in 1993. Two years later, Jim met and married Beverly Plumley in 1995.

He has left a huge void in the lives of his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his second wife; son, James B. Henson, of Susanville; daughter, Kimberly Fix, of Virginia; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild; a nephew; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his first wife; a daughter, Sue Rollison; brother, Tom Henson; and sister, Linda Payne.
