Wayne Lee Snider
Born May 1, 1942 Westwood, California. Died Sept. 2, 2017 Susanville, California.
Born to William Harold Snider and Catherine Helen Snider on May 5, 1942.
He passed away on Sept. 9 after a long battle with cancer.
He graduated from Westwood High School. He started his grocery career at Young’s Market in Westwood.
He married Gale and had three children. Amanda, Matthew and Melanie. They divorced after 13 years.
Wayne married Marion, “Petey.” He adopted her daughter Na Pua. Wayne and Marion were married for 40 years.
He is survived by his sisters Patty Brundland of Reno and Francis Mattern of Auburn, California. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He worked at Safeway for 35 years, ending his career as produce manager.
He retired and he and Marion traveled until he was unable to enjoy it.
He was Exalted Ruler of the Elks and remained an active trustee until his death.
He was a wonderful, loving person and will be greatly missed by all.
His service will be Saturday Sept. 16 at the Susanville Elk’s Lodge at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Elks Major Project at the Elks Lodge Susanville, PO Box 1299, Susanville, CA 96130.
Joseph Edward Egyed
Westwood resident Joseph Edward Egyed affectionately known as “Gorgo,” passed from this life June 5, 2017 in Westwood.
Born in San Jose, California to Emil “Eddy” Egyed and Allona Sue Egyed on Feb. 21, 1967, he moved with his family at age 4 to be raised and educated in Westwood graduating from Westwood
High School as a member of the Class of 1985. He went on to further his education at Shasta College before returning to Westwood where he worked in the logging industry as well as working as a
mechanic.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an expert motorcycle rider who competed in many venues throughout the area to include Virginia City’s Scrambles.
In his untimely passing he leaves his father Emil “Eddy” Egyed; dear brother, Jason, and finance, Lisa Johnson.
He joins his mother, Allona Sue Egyed, who just recently passed in February of this year, in their eternal home.
All are invited to a celebration of his and his mother’s life planned for Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Westwood Park commencing at noon. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at fehrmanmortuary.com.
