Police department seeks volunteers, donations for officer Barham’s memorial

The Susanville Police Department is seeking volunteers and donations, including hand-written notes, for first responders attending Officer Ryan Barham’s June 24 memorial.

“We at the Susanville Police Department have been overwhelmed by the love and support our agency has received since the passing of Officer Ryan Barham,” read a Monday post from the SPD. “As our agency prepares for his Memorial on June 24, 2021, we have received numerous requests from the community on how they can show their support for Officer Barham.”

The Susanville Police Explorers — a group the SPD noted held a special place in Officer Barham’s heart — will be assembling law enforcement officer thank you goody bags for all of the first responders who attend Officer Barham’s Memorial.

“Officers will be arriving from all over California, and other parts of the United States, and what a great way to show them the pride and support our community has for Officer Barham then providing them a hand written note, or picture, as well as a little snack goody bag,” continued the post.

Needed items

•Non-perishable snacks/goodies

Donations can be dropped off to the Susanville Police Department at 1801 Main St. in Susanville.
