Public Meeting for Discussion of Possible State CDBG Application
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Lassen will conduct a public meeting on May 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 707 Nevada Street, Susanville, in order to discuss a possible application for funding under the 2022 State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to solicit public input.
CDBG funds are provided as grants for a wide range of activities directed toward economic development, improvement of community facilities and infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, and public services. All CDBG activities must meet one of the following National Objectives: benefit low and moderate income persons; aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight; or meet certain urgent community needs.
Eligible activities in the 2022 CDBG Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) consist of: homeownership assistance and housing rehabilitation programs; public facility and public improvements projects (including public improvements in support of new housing construction); public service programs, planning studies, economic development business assistance and microenterprise activities.
The County of Lassen has approximately $307,971 in CDBG Program Income, and Lassen County Health and Social Services is proposing to submit an application under the 2022 CDBG NOFA to use that Program Income to provide needed upgrades and improvements to the Westwood Community Center.
The purpose of this public hearing is to give the public the opportunity to make their comments know about the proposed application.
