The Eagle Lake Ranger District (ELRD), of the Lassen National Forest (LNF) is seeking your input on the proposed Champs and McCoy Flat Meadow Restoration Project (Project). The project is located on approximately 1,277 acres of the LNF along Pine Creek.

The current proposal would include soil and rock borrow areas, grading disturbance, and temporary road construction. Additional activities would include conifer removal, invasive species treatment, and fence removal. Preliminary analysis suggests that this action will be categorically excluded from documentation in an environmental impact statement (EIS) or an environmental assessment (EA). The category of action applies as it has activities to restore wetlands, streams, riparian areas or other water bodies to improve ecosystem health. In addition, it falls within the requirements of the limitations of this category.

The Forest Service is seeking your input as it relates to the proposed action and identification of any issues about the anticipated effects from this proposed action. Please respond by June 15th so your comments may be fully considered as we move through the decision-making process with this project. Written comments can also be delivered between 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the Eagle Lake Ranger District Office, located at the same address.
