NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lassen Local Agency Formation Commission will hold a public hearing on the following item:
LAFCo File 2015-0002 The McArthur FPD (in Shasta County) has passed a resolution consenting to annex the Northwest Lassen FPD (in Lassen County) and the Northwest Lassen has passed a resolution consenting to be dissolved and annex its territory to the McArthur FPD. The districts will become one district by annexing all territory within the NW Lassen FPD to the McArthur FPD. The successor agency will be the McArthur FPD. The purpose of this reorganization is to provide enhanced and dependable fire and EMS services.
The reorganization documents will be available for review five days prior to the LAFCo hearing at the LAFCo website to the extent possible: www.lassenlafco.org and the McArthur Fire Department at 44283 Highway 299E in McArthur. NOTICE AND REQUEST FOR APPLICANTS FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS TO THE JOHNSTONVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Due to the resignation of two members of the Board of Trustees of the Johnstonville Elementary School District, the Board voted at its November 9, 2016 meeting to call for provisional appointments to fill the vacated seats. Community members wishing to be considered for a provisional appointment must:
- Be a resident of the school district listed above.
- Complete a questionnaire, which may be obtained by contacting Tawnya Merrill at Johnstonville Elementary School, Susanville, California, 96130, (530) 257-2471. Completed questionnaires must be submitted to the Johnstonville Elementary School Office no later than 4:00 p.m. December 7, 2016.
Applications from candidates meeting the above qualifications will be reviewed by the Johnstonville Elementary School District Board of Trustees, and the Board may fill the vacancy at the December 14, 2016, meeting of the Board. Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the Lassen County Office of Education within 30 days following the provisional appointments, the appointments shall become effective. The appointees shall hold office until the next regularly-scheduled board member election, which will be in November 2018.
