Pure Combat High Desert Brawl 16 rumbles at Diamond Mountain Casino Saturday night

Once again, the mixed martial arts world focuses its attention on Diamond Mountain Casino Saturday, Sept. 9 for the Pure Combat High Desert Brawl 16. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the fights begin at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome.

For those who are ready to rumble but can’t attend in person, an official pay-per-view livestream is available at fite.tv/watch/purecombat-high-desert-brawl-16/2pdkn/.

The first matches on the card have already been announced (subject to change without notice), scheduling five MMA fights — three professional title bouts and two amateur bouts.

Professional fights
At 170 pounds, Justin Baseman, ranked No. 20, representing FightKore MMA, of Reno, Nevada, (22-28-1), battles Carson Frei, of Oregon, ranked No. 104 (11-5-0). At 265 pounds, Carl “Badwater” Seumanutafa, representing the El Niño Center in San Francisco, California, (12-14-0) faces Braxton Smith, of Austin, Texas, ranked No. 174 (5-2-0). At 265 pounds, Ronny Markes, of Orlando, Florida, ranked No. 5, (22-10-0) squares off against DJ “Da Protege” Linderman, representing Dosmithin Athletics, of Yreka, California (23-18-0).

Amateur fights
As 185 pounds, Auston Stewart, representing Arashi Do Martial Arts, of Edmonton, Alberta ranked No. 5 (3-0-0) faces Joe Murray, of Nevada, ranked No. 7 (5-1-0). At 145 pounds, Edward “EJ” Schmehl, of Nevada, ranked No. 9 (4-4-0) battles Anthony Greed, of Redding, ranked No. 281 ((0-1-0).
