Lassen County Amateur Radio Club members (HAM Radio Operators) will be participating in the annual National Emergency Radio Test event called Field Day on June 24 and 25.
Local Ham operators will be practicing their emergency communications skills on Saturday, June 24 and 27 at the Highway 139 Day-Use Area, 8 miles north of Susanville. Beginning 11:00 a.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday. Radio operators will practice emergency communication skills under primitive type conditions using alternative power sources, such as battery, solar, wind or generators as each radio setup must be self-sufficient.

Visitors are welcome to visit and view this local event. A visitors table with information and handouts from the local radio club will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24.
