Red Cross closes evacuation center for Beckwourth Complex Fire; assistance still offered for those affected
The evacuation center for residents affected by the Beckwourth Complex fire is currently closed. Anyone needing additional services can call (800) RED CROSS ((800) 733-2767). We had a few residents stop by for assistance, but no one needing overnight care.
Preparedness
We urge residents in and around the Beckwourth fire to maintain preparedness in case the need to evacuate arises. Have your disaster kit ready and check with local officials for the latest information about evacuations.
Key items to include in your kit are personal protective equipment, prescription medications, extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies and a digital copy of important documents. Don’t forget to bring special items for family members who have unique needs or for children, such as diapers, formula and toys.
