Red Cross staffs Evacuation Center for Beckwourth Complex Fire; assistance is available for those evacuating

As the Beckwourth Complex Fire threatens homes in the Red Rock and Rancho Haven area, the American Red Cross is assisting people who have evacuated from their homes. Residents who need assistance can check in with the Red Cross for assistance and services at Hug High School. The Red Cross will be providing regular updates on our social media channels (FB | LinkedIn | Twitter | Instagram).

Assistance and services are being offered for those who have evacuated their homes. Residents must check in with the Red Cross in order to receive our assistance. COVID-19 protocols are in place.

The Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center is accommodating larger animals.

Preparedness

For those who are in areas near the fire not under a mandatory evacuation order, please be prepared to evacuate in case the fire spreads go your area. Have your disaster kit ready and check with local officials for the latest information about evacuations.

Key items to include in your kit are personal protective equipment, prescription medications, extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies and a digital copy of important documents. Don’t forget to bring special items for family members who have unique needs or for children, such as diapers, formula and toys.
