Red flag warning in Lassen County

The United States Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for Lassen County from 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 29 through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30.

The red flag warning is due to thunderstorms and strong outflow winds for Eastern Lassen County, Northern Washoe County and the Surprise Valley.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday afternoon, but they are expected to produce little rainfall, and may cause new fires. The outflow winds are expected to increase to as much as 45 miles per hour.
