Reported threat prompts LHS soft lockdown Tuesday; investigation determined no threat to students, staff

A reported non-specific threat prompted a soft lockdown at Lassen High School Tuesday, Oct. 13. The investigation ultimately determined there was no threat to students and staff.

According to a statement from the Susanville Police Department, at about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, Lassen High School administration reported a non-specific threat to the police department. SPD officers, along with staff from the high school and assistance from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, responded to investigate.

“During the time we were investigating, the school was put into a soft lockdown, meaning no one was allowed on campus and all students remained in the classrooms. After the investigation was complete, we determined there was no threat to the high school students and staff and lifted the lockdown,” read the statement.
