The Lassen Sportsmens Club released the results of the 33rd annual Junior Fishing Derby held Saturday, May 21.
According to a statement from the club, 327 participants registered for the event — 110 participants for ages 2 to 5 and 217 participants for ages 6 to 15. It was a cloudy day just perfect for fishing with temperatures from 34 to 69 degrees.
Girls 2-5 years old 1. Paisley Murphy (3 pounds, 7 ounces at 19 3⁄4”; 2. Kinley Cox (3 pounds, 6 ounces at 20”); and 3. Athena Shivley (3 pounds, 5 ounces at 20 3⁄4”).
Boys 2-5 years old 1.Axel Oliviera-Severs (3 pounds, 7 ounces at 19 1⁄4 ”); 2. Jayce Wilson (3 pounds, 5 ounces at 20”); and 3. Eddie Rickett (3 pounds, 2 ounces at 20 1⁄4”).
Sportsmanship Award — Ethan Nelson.
Girls 6-15 years old 1. Miliani Crosno (3 pounds, 12 ounces, at 19 3⁄4”); 2. Natalie Glucklich (3 pounds, 7 ounces at 19”) and, 3. Madison Arthurs (3 pounds, 2 ounces at 19 1⁄4 ”).
Boys 6-15 years old 1. Alec Schultze (3 pounds, 15 ounces at 21”); 2. Hayden McElhaney (3 pounds, 6 ounces, at 19 1⁄2”) and 3. Seth Mallery (3 pounds, 4 ounces. at 19 1⁄2”).
