Here’s a roundup of actions taken by the Lassen County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Closed session
The board met in closed session for an evaluation of the county administrative officer. The board gave direction to staff.

Public hearings
The board held a public hearing and unanimously approved an ordinance updating the county’s mapping system and adopting the Zoning Dataset from the County Geographical Information System.

Matters set for time certain
The board unanimously approved a letter of support for the Fredonyer Butte Trail System.

Boards and commissions
The board unanimously approved the appointment of Matt Hurley to the Standish-Litchfield Fire Protection District Board. His term expires Dec. 6, 2026.

Information/consent calendar
The board unanimously approved the items on its information/consent calendar including a request by District 5 Supervisor Jason Ingram to designate $500 from his discretionary fund to the Susanville Indian Rancheria Powwow; a request from District 2 Supervisor Gary Bridges to designate $500 from his discretionary fund to the Lassen Grizzly Claybreakers; a resolution required by law articulating CALPERS contributions; received and filed a recap of the High Desert State Prison Trials Cost Reimbursement billing; minutes of the board’s Feb. 17 meeting; and received and filed miscellaneous correspondence.

Department reports
The board approved the purchase of a $558,851.75 Lenco BearCat armored rescue vehicle for the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office; and after discussion, the board approved the Lassen County Board of Supervisors Rules of Procedure.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 10.
