Sally Finizio, 81, died on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Reno, Nevada.
Sally was born in Eureka, California, on January 5, 1944, to her parents Marlin and Marie (Nordquist) Seidell. She grew up with her younger brother Steve Seidell and throughout her life the two of them recounted numerous adventures of their childhood. Her first marriage was to James Martin in 1963 which ended in divorce. Sally lived in Susanville until moving to Reno, Nevada in 2005.
The trajectory of Sally’s life changes after becoming a realtor in 1976. Working along side Ben Finizio, who became her husband in 1989, she became a well known and sought after salesperson. She developed her catchphrase “Sally Sells Susanville” and took great pride in her profession.
Sally was predeceased by her husband Ben in 2001. She is survived by her children, Katie Martin of Reno, Nevada, her daughter and caregiver until the end of her life, her daughter Kris Martin of Guilford, Vermont and her brother and sister-in-law Steve and Anna Seidell of Modesto, California. Also important in her life was her Grandbird African Grey Parrot, Lucy Lou, who brought her hours of laughter and memories.
Per Sally’s request there will be no formal services. Instead, we ask you to raise a glass of your favorite libation and recall fond memories of the time spent with her.
