Salvation Army offers food programs

During this uncertain time, the Susanville Salvation Army is doing its part to ensure no one goes hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The local group is offering locals three different ways to obtain needed products.

For more information on any of the programs, call the Salvation Army at 257-0314.

Daily “Table” Food:

There is a variety of food available on the table, and in the refrigerator, at the Salvation Army’s office, 1560 Main St. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Clients may come once per day and receive food. Food type and quantities vary. The Salvation Army also has hygiene products and pet food at times.

Twice Monthly Food Distribution

Food distribution is the second and fourth Friday of each month. You can pick up a number as early as 8:30 a.m. and distribution begins at 12:30 p.m. Follow the Salvation Army on Facebook for any changes in the schedule.

Emergency Food Boxes

Clients who are experiencing financial hardship may receive an emergency food box on an as-needed basis. These boxes provide approximately four days of food and include non-perishable, as well as perishable items. They vary in size according to the number of people in the household.
