Santa’s Sleigh Days promotion encourages local shopping, offers amazing prizes

This year’s Santa’s Sleigh Days promotion, sponsored by the Lassen County Times in partnership with 20 local businesses, offers residents a great way to win cash and prizes while shopping locally.

The promotion begins today, Tuesday, Dec. 6 and continues through Saturday, Dec. 10, and local shoppers have a chance to win their share of more than $5,000 in cash and prizes.

Here’s how it works. Shoppers at each of the 20 participating business can enter to participate in the drawing. Each store will draw five winners on Tuesday, Dec. 13 who will go back to the store and pick up a Scratch ‘N” Win game card good for a prize from one of the participating merchants.

“Every Scratch ‘N’ Win card is a winner,” said Jill Atkinson, general manager/advertising director at the Lassen County Times, “and there are a lot of great prizes. The local businesses really stepped up to encourage people to shop local and see what they have of offer.”

Of course, the more local merchants residents visit, the more chances they have to one of the store’s five winners.

Some of the prizes include a Hamilton Beach food processor from Billington Ace Hardware and $50 store gift certificates from Sears, Petmate dog kennel from Treats Natural Pet Marketplace and a complete car tune-up from Susanville Auto Center.

Other prizes include a DeWalt portable air compressor from Napa Sierra Auto Parts, a $50 store gift certificate from Sierra Jewelry, a 500 watt convect air electric heater from Lassen Municipal Utility District, and a Sedona coat rack from Zaengles.

A beautiful gift basket from Chick-A-Dee’s is also available, and the Diamond Mountain Casino offers a complete New Year’s Eve room and show package.
