Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon announces his retirement on Facebook.
Here’s his statement
“I have had the honor of serving the people of Lassen County for the past 30 years as a member of the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, and for the past 13 years as Sheriff-Coroner. It has been a challenging but rewarding experience, and I am happy to have been able to serve the people in the county that I love and call my home.
“After much heartfelt thought, prayer, and family deliberation, I have decided that the time has come for me to retire. My last day serving as Lassen County Sheriff-Coroner will be Dec. 27, 2023.
“When you serve in the public safety profession, your family and your health often take a back seat to your duty to serve the community. At this point in my life, I recognize the need to focus on my health and my family. Without the support of my family, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I have. I want to specifically thank my wife Carol and our sons Neil and Logan for the sacrifices they have made, and their steadfast love and support over the years.
“I will miss serving alongside the incredible men and women of the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, and appreciate their dedication to our profession and community more than I could ever express. Lassen County is fortunate to have fine men and women who are willing to serve in such a challenging environment.
“Thank you, be safe, and God bless.”
Lassennews.com thanks Growdon for his years of service to our county and wishes him well in his retirement.
