Sheriff’s Office issues new evacuation order, warnings

As of 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office issued a new evacuation order and warnings.

A new Mandatory Evacuation Order has been issued for east of Hwy 395 from the Milford Grade intersection south to the Flux Rd intersection

New Evacuation Warnings have been issued for:

• Lake Forest Estates and Eagle Lake Road A1 from Hwy 36 north to the County Access gate and east to Prattville Rd and north to Paiute Creek.
• West of Hwy 395 from the A25 Herlong Access Rd intersection south to the A26 Garnier Rd intersection

All previously issued orders and warnings remain in place.

Road Closures:

• County Road A21 is closed to southbound traffic from Hwy 44
• Hwy 36 is closed west of Eagle Lake Rd A1
• Hwy 395 from A25 to Hwy 36 at Richmond Rd

Safety Message: People under evacuation order should leave immediately. Those under warning who require assistance and those with pets and livestock should leave now. Use caution, drive with your headlights on and yield to emergency personnel. Call dispatch for assistance evacuating 530-257-6121. An Emergency Shelter is located at Lassen Community College in Susanville. The Shelter number is (530) 250-9004. Large animals can be taken to Lassen County Fairgrounds. Deputies will be going door to door to make notifications
