The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about an early morning July 8 shooting in Westwood to call Captain Mike Carney at 2567-6121,
According to a statement from the LCSO, officers responded to a 911 call regarding shots fire in the area of Delwood Street and Highway 36 about 2 a.m. Thursday, July 8.
Upon arrival, deputies canvassed the area and were unable to locate anything suspicious, but approximately 20-30 minutes later, the Lassen County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a male subject who said he had been shot. The male subject refused to provide dispatchers with any further information and hung up.
Deputies eventually located the victim in the front yard of an address on Parkwood Drive in Pinetown. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh and continued to refuse to provide deputies with any information regarding the incident.
The victim was transported to Banner Lassen Hospital and subsequently flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada for treatment.
