Significant delays expected on northbound Interstate 5 this weekend
Bridge joint seal assembly work is planned to continue on Interstate 5 this weekend at Cottonwood Creek Bridge, approximately 15 miles south of Redding (near the Shasta/Tehama County Line). Long-term lane closures (tentatively planned for Friday nights at 10 p.m. through Sunday mornings at 6 a.m.) will generate lengthy traffic backups and significant delays during daytime operations on selected Saturdays. There is no other highway alternative in the area.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area during bridge joint work on Saturdays during daytime hours or plan their travels through the area during nighttime hours when interstate traffic volumes are lesser.
Remaining schedule
• Weekend of 6/5-6/7: Closure of northbound No. 1 lane.
• Weekend of 6/12-6/14: Closure of southbound No. 2 lane.
• Weekend of 6/19-6/21: Closure of southbound No. 1 lane.
• Weekend of 6/26-6/28: Contingency for any unfinished work.

Please note
The northbound on ramp from Bowman Road and the Northbound Cottonwood Scales will be closed during northbound operations. The southbound on ramp from Gas Point Road will be closed during southbound operations.
J.F. Shea Construction, North Region Construction and Caltrans District 2 thank the traveling public and local communities for their patience during the construction of the project.
