Four people from Prescott, Arizona suffered major injuries in a single car crash on Highway 44 about 7:20 a.m. Saturday, March 6.
According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, Kelly Purvis, 20 was driving between 75 and 80 miles-per-hour when she lost control of the 2015 Chevrolet SUV she was driving on a snowy and ice-covered highway.
The SUV left the roadway, collided with a large stump, went airborne and then struck a tree.
Passengers Dylan Bonfiglio, a 16-year-old minor and Warren Wallace also were injured.
All four occupants were transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center before being transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada with injuries that ranged from head injuries to internal trauma.
